COVID-19 PRACTICE UPDATES

 

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES

Service users will be screened and risk assessed prior to appointment via telephone and /or email.

The intention is to minimize time spent prior to your treatment.


PRE-APPOINTMENT SCREENING


Specific risks for Covid-19 will be addressed using a specific health screening and assessment form which can be printed and /or emailed back prior to appointment.
The questionnaire will apply to the service user and to anyone in their household. The following information will be required:

 

  • Medical risk – Are they subject to shielding due to pre existing medical or surgical conditions?

  • Recent Contacts (Social of Medical) – Have they been in contact with anyone with Covid -19 infection in the last 14 days?

  • Social Risk – Travel history and events attended

  • Symptomatic Risk – Fever, Excessive Tiredness, Headache, Cough, Breathing difficulties, Loss of taste or smell, Unexplained rash, red eyes or gastro-intestinal problems.


Risk status will be assessed following telephone consultation and verified on arrival at appointment.
Routine follow up appointments will not be carried out in clinic but will be facilitated by telephone, Facetime, Zoom or similar. 

 
SOCIAL DISTANCING


Appointments will be managed to allow spacing between appointment times to enable sanitisation of treatment rooms. Only one service user permitted access at a time.


You will be encouraged to book appointments via telephone, electronically or via online booking system.
Treatment will be appointment only. Please be advised that no walk-in appointments will be available. Please wear a face covering but if you do not have one; one can be provided.  A “no handshake policy” will be in force and you will be respectfully invited to wash your hands and use sanitiser on arrival.   


Reception seating will be limited and you will be taken directly to the treatment room observing social distancing. 


Payment will be taken remotely where possible using prepayment, BACS transfer and use of card machine. If card machine is used, contactless is preferable and machine will be sanitised after each use.


Please bring a small bottle of water with you if you like as we are unable to offer any refreshments at this time.
